Default FYI on MS VM2 backorder times

I just ordered one directly from MS yesterday. The NEW backorder estimated delivery date is now 18-24 weeks. Vendors other than MS who carry MS holsters told me they are now being told it is indefinite as to when they will get stock.

Every quality leather holster maker is experiencing loooooooong lead times now. IWB mag holders from Tucker Gunleather are a 10 week wait right now. I'm also on 12 weeks waiting for a belt from Brigade.

My new OWB Milt Sparks has been on order for 5 months now. I wonder if I will ever get it.

Only 5 months? That sounds good to me. I have been waiting since October 2005 and do not expect to be at the front of the list until October of this year. DelFatti has a little following that keeps him going.

But if you do not want to wait you might try http://lightningarms.com/products.htm

BF, great. I guess the guy I spoke to was giving 18 weeeks min, but the owrst case scenario otherwsie.

True Brit, I tried Lightning. They were out and one of the folks that told me they had no idea when MS would ever get back to them on an estimated shipping date for the future.

Your best bet if you want a Milt Sparks anything is to watch the for sale forums. Many people don't even bother with eBay because they sell instantly on many of the gun boards including mainly GlockTalk, 1911Forum, SigForum, and AR15. Most of the MS holsters I've seen come through there are new or near new - but expect to pay the same price or even more than what MS charges on their website - even for used.

OK. I feel really guilty now. I few weeks back I signed up at Top Gun Supplies to be notified when a VM2 for a 3" 1911 came into stock. About a week ago I got an email notifying me that they had one. I immediately went to their site and ordered it. It shipped the next day and I got it in the mail a few days ago. Apparently I got the only one they had.

Don't feel guilty for being proactive. I lucked out and got mine (only one they had) from Lightning Arms on a fluke. They had just gotten ONE in.

I am wearing my new VM2 as of today. It took four and a half months of waiting and was well worth the wait. I will never use Kydex again. This holster is very comfortable and well made.

Thanks Glock32 for the advise.

DanM, I ordered mine in balck, too. I also ordered the double mag IWB holder, in black, shiny side out. Did you order the mag holder as well?

Just a heads up as they're hard to come by, Lightning Arms has Milt Sparks Versa Max II in stock for 4" 1911s. No 3" though
