I have a S&W 640 with a screw on belt clip that I tuck in my sometimes.
And my KAHR pm40 is small enough that in the winter I could pocket carry. I haven't, yet. |

Does a fanny pack count? Unless it's in the pack or a concealed and dedicated weapons pouch such as in my briefcase or camera bag, it is in a holster.
My opinion...carrying a weapon unsupported or with an exposed trigger and/or safety is unprofessional and irresponsible. One ND and you could be putting an innocent bystander at risk, not to mention parts of your body. |

I know a cop who carries a SIG IWB with no holster. I wouldn't do it.

OK...
I carried various 1911's for about 20 years ... stuck in my waistband.. sans holster... I have upon occasion carried a Smith model 12 - old school lightweight - and an astra 380 bug upon occasion.... Wouldn't carry a glock with one of them clip thingee's just stuck in my pants like some of my friends...I have too big a butt..worked to hard sitting on it to want to lose a chunk to "holstering" my tupperware.....geez....the thought makes me cringe 1911..though...no problem with border carry... however, I find that I "monkey" with it too much if it is just stuck in the waistband.. a holster with two attachment points is much much more satisfactory. ![]()

Used to call it the "Mexican Carry" and I lugged my .45 that way for years. Not very good for the firearm as the salt from your sweat would cause rust spots in a matter of days.
Lots of narcs carried their old revolvers or snubbies with a dozen rubber bands wrapped around the grips to the revolver would slip down their pants. All sans holsters. Different time and a great array of quality holsters these days. |

Take it from one who knows (learned the hard way) there's no excuse for not wearing a good holster.
