This makes me wonder if the folks down at Milt Sparks have ever taken a class in basic business or economics. They are just asking for people ordering holsters for common pistols and reselling them at 150-200% profit

+1

At least they're making somewhat of an effort...I guess. They now only accept a month's worth of orders then stop - i.e. if you call after, say, the 10th of the month, they won't take your order - you have to wait until the first of the following month

I'm not sure how that really helps, other than to thwart some orders and send the people to either eBay or their competitor. IMHO, they should either increase supply (hire some more damn people already) or decrease demand(raise prices). They're just lucky China or India (in horsehide only of course) aren't jumping in on this.

The eBay phenomenon is a natural result of capitalism. No different then the Wii resellers at Christmas. Hate it all you want, but it's probably going to get worse as Milt Sparks says they've now clamped down on orders that they interpret are being purchased for resale.

They are also not accepting orders that appear to be for resale. I just ordered 5 VM2's, for 5 different guns, and he was suspicious. He said if I'd bought more than one holster for the same kind of gun he wouldn't have taken it.

I agree 100%. I really don't get it why an American company would not try to take advantage of this hot market.
If it was me I would take the route of pricing increases. People are obviously willing to pay a premium so why not a base price for std. delivery for the folks who don't mind waiting and an expedited delivery of lets say 6 weeks for 50% above list?
Or maybe just bump the prices up big time accross the board and tell the guys who want to save money to go and buy a comp-tac.

If Milt Sparks only had a clue....If I were them, I'd hire 5-10 more people and raise the prices.

I give a lot of credit to TTGunLeather. He is an one man operation and can get custom holsters to his customers in about 3 weeks.

Sparks would also need to have e-mail available ... One guy responds to e-mails ... and only when he is in the office. Those selling on E-Bay must be helping to move their product.

I'll have to give TT Gunleather a shot at one ... got to support the forrum's members.
