Default Crossbreed Supertuck

Woohoo, my new holster came in about a week ago, and I finally had a chance to put it on to try it out. It's the Crossbreed Supertuck. It's a third supertuck that I own (one for XD, one for Steyr and now one for the 1911) and by far it's the best (not that the other ones where bad, but this one is a definately best!).

The holster came with improved mounting system (new clip design where there is a small spacer between the clip and the holster to allow for easier "hanging") and there was a change over from flat head screws that hold the clips to phillips heads. This probably is by far best improvement as it allows for better control while tightening the clips.

In any case I've just put it on and it fits just right: leather contours itself to the body pretty nicely and the kydex holds the gun really good. I know that it's sacrilage to use a kydex holster for such a nicely crafted weapon as 1911, but for the occasions when I need to tuck the shirt in, IMHO that is the way to go.

I couldn't agree more. I still plan to order a VM-2, but I'm completely satisfied with my SuperTuck.

Just got my Supertuck on Friday!! Wow very nice. I have been a Comp-Tac CTAC guy and though they have been great. The Supertuck has taken comfort to a whole new level. Have to say in the world of holsters you can receive in a reasonable time the Supertuck is the bomb.

Might not be as beautiful as the all leather offerings by some of the "competition". But function and comfort are on par. That without having to wait 3 to 6 months for it!

I like my supertuck too. I read about Crossbreed Supertuck on another forum and everybody there seems to like the supertuck also.

I have to say I picked up the new MTAC from Comp-Tac for my Glock 38/39 and it is as nice if not nicer. Seems the quality is a step above the Crossbreed. The leather is of higher quality and the clips are much better too. Just a FYI for those looking.

But my all time favorite is the Milt Sparks VMII. They are just impossible to find for the GAP Glocks.

I've got a question for those of the plastic persuassion. Are the Gap Glocks different in dimensional size from the other glocks? The reason that I ask is because when I was researching for holsters for my 36, I found that the 19, 23 and others of similar size fit into the same holsters with and without the thumb breaks. As the SMs and FMs know I tried the Ultra in BonoVox's former C-TAC. If someone could try the experiment and post their results that would be great.

I know for sure that the 9mm and .40 Glocks are the same size...17/22, 19/23 and 26/27. Looking at the chart below, it appears that the GAP Glocks would also share the same dimensions (click on the gun of interest.)

Thanks Hoser, I still owe you lunch from the time you helped me with a bet. I haven't forgotten Ole Buddy ole Pal

I was just thinking that BonoVox might be able to order a Milt Sparks that will fit other similar size glocks, rather than wait. MS could have one just sitting around in their inventory.

Come on BonoVox you know you'll have trouble sleeping at night thinking about this!!

I believe the Glock 38, (My next purchase) is of the same dimension as a Glock 23, the slide is slightly wider, but not that significant. You might want to check the dimensions.

How's the Crossbreed compare to the Mtac? I heard a complaint about the Mtac is that there's too much leather around the gun grip area and some folks have had to cut the holster to get a better grip. Looks as if the Mtac may have solved that?

Are not the dimentions on the GAP models only different in the grip area because of the shorter GAP round?

I'm not a glock guy so I could be way off. FI correct me if needed.

Glock Gap's have the bigger slide. The frame is 17/22 (G37) 19/23 (G38) 26/27 (G39)

And the only plastic I have is charge cards.

Last month CCWI introduced me to the Milt Sparks holsters.

Today I received two Milt Sparks Watch 6 holsters. One is O-Frame Commander size. I plan to use it for my Ultra and Pro-Carry
The other is for a Glock 19/23. As you Gentlemen are aware, I'm the kind of guy that will eat soup with a fork just for sheets and giggles! On a leap of faith, I actually purchased the MS "G-19/23" because I wanted it for my G-36. It fits!!!!!!

BonoVox, maybe you can experiment with you MS holsters and your GAP Glocks!
