Default 1st week wearing my Galco Ankle Holster (Ultra CDP II)

Holster: Galco Ankle Holster with Thigh Strap
Pistol: Ultra CDP II (3" barrel)

It's been a week since I started using the Galco Ankle Holster I received months ago. I Also have the thigh strap which really eliminates the holster from moving around.

I have been wearing the holster on the inside of my left leg since I am right handed.

So far so good doing my normal day to day activities. I have had no issues of the holster moving OR worrying about my gun.

I am constantly in awkward positions; on my back, on my knees, doing various things that I normally would do. Most the time I forget the holster is there because it doesn't move or shift.

1st choice of carry is IWB. I now have a close second choice when I just can't wear IWB at that time.

My G27 is on my ankle most of the time.

Interesting. I would have never thought to carry my Ultra that way. Figured it would be a little to big and bulky. Thanks for posting photos too.

If you can't find cover and draw from behind it and someone gets the jump on you, it's probably good to pray (while kneeling of course). Or feign a heart attack or beg for your life if you must.

If you are going ankle carry, my advice is to practice, practice and then practice some more.

Hey Mike, since you wear jeans, here's a tip for quicker access to your gun in the ankle holster.

Have a tailor open up the inside seam up to your knee. Then have him put in a strip of velcro along the seam. When you need to get your firearm out in a hurry, you just yank your pant leg open with your off and draw your firearm.

"Edited by staff"

Just wondering, how much does that print? To me, it looks very noticeable in the pictures and I don't think anyone seeing that could mistake it for a cell phone or anything else due to it's location. I think I would prefer to use a shoulder holster as a second option over an ankle holster. What made you decide to choose the ankle over the shoulder?

That's when you lean over and say real quietly "I just had intestinal surgery - it's my colostomy bag".

No joke, I'm actually serious.
