Default Holsters

I would like to try out some concealed carry holsters in person, but I can't find any provider of such products that has sufficient selection.

I've checked websites for the two holsters I've seen recommended on this forum, but both are very low or no stock. Even so, I prefer to try before I buy somewhere in Southern California... preferably Orange County. Somewhere that will let me stick my gun in the holster before I buy, or at least allow for a 1-day return policy.

I like the VersaMax 2, but Milt Sparks is currently processing orders from July and August 2007 (per their website)... they're about 5 months behind in their production process and that's unacceptable for a company that wants to sell me a product.

Any ideas?

I found the VM2 style holster works great for guns that are heavy in the barrel area, but short-barrel grip-heavy guns (like my Glock 27) sit a little too high for my taste in it.

I use the Comp-Tac MTAC, which is a very comfortable alternative. You can also get one custom-made in a week or less (my last one arrived overnight(!) and they have a very generous return policy if you don't like it.

Just another alternative to consider.

That's the one.

TT GunLeather High Quality Leather Gun Holsters

Have you used anything like this before you can compare them too?

I've thought about the Milt Sparks too, but the extreme wait time is something I'd prefer to avoid if the TT product is AS GOOD.

Thanks Mike. I'm interested in your evaluation. I may be in the position libertarian described with either of my XD, .45 Compact or .40 Sub Compact. What will you be carrying in yours? Something nose or grip heavy?

I just can't see a Kydex "box" being all that comfy on my hip, but then I've not tried one.

Sorry Mad but I am a holster rookie. I am trying to hook up with 1Buba to have him check out my TT holster and compare it to his VM2.

Tim has been a great help and a quick turn-a-round indeed.

Good to have him around.
