Default Inconspicuous fanny pack

For my situation a fanny pack looks like the best solution. I want to get one that's as inconspicuous. A Guy says he bought a Galco - in burgundy, and had a couple of liberal looking patches (a peace sign and a 5 pointed leaf) sewn on as camoflage.

That seems like a great solution. The only problem: A Guy bought his 15 years ago, and nobody makes a leather fanny pack holster in anything but black or brown anymore.

Can you have dark leather dyed a lighter color? I'd like something totally wussy - like sky blue.

You might be able to have something that's a light shade of brown dyed. Take it to cobbler/shoe repair person...they do dying.

Do you have to unzipper that, or just pull on it (Velcro)?

It's a zipper opening which is released by a pull. Opens quite fast.

I'm on my third Galco... Glock 20/21's, Beretta 92's, and of course the 1911 is kinda hard on them. Galco repairs them quickly and they wash well. Have been using them for years. With daily use in the hot Bakersfield summers they last me about 4 years and then some. The zippers never seem to be a problem and they can be very fast. The draw can be done one-handed with very little practice. Comfortable and adaptable with an exta magazine slot. My wife has a smaller one she used to carry her 380 in and it is still in great shape after about 10 years.

Maybe this thread should be merged with the CCW badge thread?

I know you guys are looking for some serious input here, but I couldn't stand by any longer without mentioning that "inconspicuous" and "fanny Pack" can not possibly be used in the same sentence can they?

Bombast, they had one in blue canvas at the Uniform Center on Katella in Orange, you could drive by and get a look at it. Looked pretty well made. Through some back issues I wore a leather one and I agree with previous post, pretty obvious unless we flashback to the 80's and man purses.

I'm so glad you said it.

I'm thinking of getting a 5.11 vest...

Won't the peace sign make you look like a pot head? You might get more attention from the police.
