Default Help me love my VMII

I'm finding that I just don't find the VMII as wonderfully comfortable as some of you do. I do think that it holds the gun in a nice and accessible position, but I find that it feels like the grip is sticking away from my body and it just doesn't feel 'planted' like my MTAC. It also doesn't seem to conceal as well as the MTAC for me, but that may be because the MTAC holds the weapon lower in the belt line.

I've tried wearing it at 3, 3:30, 4, and 5. 4 is pretty comfortable, unless I sit down, then it's bloody awful. 3: and 3:30 are worse even standing up (because of my hips). I've got some good Beltman belts I use with it, both 1.25" and 1.5", and so far I can get it to 'tolerable' but not 'great.'

Am I doing something wrong, or is my body geometry not milt-sparks compatible? Any wear or concealment tips (other than 'wear the kimber ultra CDP-II version') ?

Do you wear your belt low around your hip bones? Can you hitch it up just a tad higher so it doesn't press into the bone and more into the stomach? The shirt will hide the fact that you wear the belt higher than normal.

I say give it a little time.
I had very high expectations for the VMII (hard not too hanging around this place) and couldn't wait to get one. When I finally did my first thought was WTF??? I had been happy with my Crossbreed and the new VMII was too stiff and poked into places the Crossbreed did not... But on the advice of some folks here, I gave the VMII a chance to mold to me, and soon it did.

I now like the fit, the feel, and nothing I've found (in leather) holds the weapon as securely as does the VMII.

Everyone's different and the YMMV thing comes into to play for all of us... but I say give it some time and if after a while you still don't like it, there will be plenty of folks here willing to take it off your hands.

That seems to help for me.

It's a good idea, and I'll try it... but I have a bit of a gut that tends to move the belt back down when I sit.

I'll give it some time, naturally. I don't expect it'll be hard to get rid of if I decide I don't like it.

if it's for a 1911 or a Glock, I'll give you $10 for it.

Seriously. the VMII is a dream, of a holster once it it broken in. When I started carrying mine brand new with a brand new Sparks belt i thought it was made of metal. Everything was so stiff and uncomfortable I almost lost hope. Give it a couple of weeks of 16 hour carry days and you will fall in love with it all over again.

I also held out about getting a VMII, but finally caved when I borrowed one and tried it, now I love the VMII, you do have to hitch up your pants, cinch in the belt--wear it high and tight, then it is awesome. I carry a full size 1911, wear it usually 12-15 hours per day. Just recently managed to score a Milt Sparks belt to match the VMII, very nice quality, sturdy and well finished, well worth the $$

What's your body size & shape and for what carry gun? I'm a big guy, and find the VM2 rides too high for my liking for the Glock models, but is great for the 1911 models.

What are your specific complaints? Which part of the gun is digging in when you sit down?

The only other tip I can think of without the answers above is to stop going commando and you'll avoid the inside wear!
