Post Newbie Could Use Help

I recently purchased a Para Ordinance LDA Carry12 45acp because I was told that Riverside County does not allow single action’s like my 1911 Colt Combat Commander to be used as a carry gun I was just wondering if any one else has heard anything about not carrying a single action in Riverside Co. I have been using Federal Hydra Shock bullets and carrying it in a Tommy Gunpack I’m 5’11” and 240lb it seams to be the best way for me to carry it I’m not a vest or coat kind of guy and being its been around a 100 plus degrease the last few weeks a vest really doesn’t go with shorts and a Tee-shirt maybe someone could recommend something a little better then the fanny pack I’m kind of new to carrying and could use all the help I could get on all fronts.

Thanks Forynot

Hold on there cowboy...your profile says you don't have a CCW...where are you carrying this firearm?

If and when you get a CCW... most of us carry IWB with shorts and tee's.

I would suggest that after you are ready to carry it with a ccw...that you look into inside the waistband style holsters for a variety of reasons vs. a fanny pack.

I've carried with a pack and some other members do without any problems...however I do see others eyeing it...whether it's because they suspect a gun or suspect a fashion violation.

For riding my street bike at work...I carry in a Desantis gun pouch which has a belt loop instead of a strap, like a fanny pack. It is noticed also, and eyed by many. Otherwise it's IWB 99% of the time.

You are right -- currently you can't use a 1911 style (single action first shot) pistol in Riverside County. I hope that will change. Option is a Kimber LDA.

Also can't use shoulder holster or carry a CCW badge.

That is a sick joke. Google "Bob Doyle" "Riverside SO" Badges.

The location of the lastest incident was Hunrington Beach.
