Do you wear the regulation bicycle shorts and overly tight or overly baggie blouse with it?

Wow, now that's PINK! Yeah, not really feeling the fanny pack.

After checking out the Cornered Cat site I'm thinking that inside the waist band is the best bet and the least cumbersome; but I'll have to do some more research though and even try out the different options.

Thanks again for all the input!

Come'on...you don't like that hot pink? LOL

Ok Ok...I carried in a fanny pack through the entire 90's. But that was the decade of "Can't Touch This" and big Oakley sunglasses.

Hey man, those Oakleys were cool and so was Hammer!!

Yeah, I'm not really a pink kind of girl. I like other colors...but not pink.

I'm so totally not knocking the fanny pack, I'm sure it works for people and it can actually work in certain situations for sure... it's just ... I'm not a fanny pack kind of girl.

I'm "not a____ kinda girl" to a lot of things I guess...maybe I'm just too fickle!

Default female carry methods

My wife uses a Galco "belly band" for her lightweight 38. She carries a Tactical XD (the same size as your 1911 only holds 10 rounds) in an inside the waistband holster from Threatsolutions.com. She wears it behind her hipbone, slightly, and covers with a loose blouse. She also finds the appendix carry appropriate with a smaller gun. The waist on the pants is the deciding factor along with the covering blouse.

Good Luck!

Awesome dude, thanks! I had a Galco holster as well and I really liked it...it wasn't a belly band but still.

Thanks again!

I met a guy in AZ who carries in a fanny pack. He put a Sierra Club patch on it to destroy any suspicion that there's a gun in it!! I guess everyone assumes it's full of granola....

Smile Check this out!

Hi!
I am a "decent Looking" female. I am 5'4'', 34 D, 120 lbs. I have a figure...It was so hard for me to go from wearing tight fitting jeans and a cute top to baggy clothes. ALL my co-workers/friends noticed. Trust me, they will ask. I carried SOB for 6 months now. It prints every time you bend over, lean or do anything. Very uncomy in the car. I was thinking I was getting bruises from it.
Today, however, I tried strong side. I LOVE it. I wear a tight fitting tank with a button up over. A boy's med-large button up seems to be stiff enough and long enough.
So, I get my tight fitting top, that makes me feel girly, and a gun on my side. I am looking into getting a tucker holster, because this style looks better with a tucked in shirt under the button up. Also when it is windy and you are worried that your gun might be displayed on accident, button one button and you still look good and professional.
All I can say is that these men don't really know how things work on our bodies and a small change in cant of the gun will make a huge difference. I have gone through holsters, and probably 2 different closets full of clothes now.
Let me know if you find something else out
Amanda

Ok, I am NOT going to touch most of the above. lol You are only a couple years older than my oldest daughter, Amanda. I'm glad you are safe - and i would LOVE to hear the story of your deciding on CCW and going through the process.

However, re: the untucked shirts... i haven't had to do it yet, but i read about someone sewing some small lead fishing weights (aka split shot or the lead sticks for bottom fishing in the river) in the front-bottom hem of their shirts. It helps keep it from blowing around. Also - I'm in Cameron Park and still have several type holsters you are welcome to try (if you haven't already). Also, you'll be getting a PM soon from another local shooter re: a range day...
