Default Holster Idea?

Holster.JPG

My idea on this holster is to have it made out of leather but, because of the fat flap (What younger guys call sweat shield), or retention strap at least part of it will need to have some sort of reinforcement (1). I would prefer metal reinforced but I am not sure of the feasibility of that. This retention strap, for lack of a better term, isn’t really retaining much; it would just require a pull through on the draw. My theory is that it would deliver a small “snap” when the holster is seated in the holster. I should also allow a little more strenuous activity while keeping the dreaded “thud” from happening.

I think it would be most concealable with a tunnel loop behind the holster and a rear loop to pull the butt of the firearm in (2).

The small box on the front of the holster as a badge holder, or for those that don’t carry a badge I think it should be able to be used to mount a Surefire E2D flashlight (3).

The low cut front I feel is important because it allows for a quicker draw stroke from a seated position (4).

Site track (5)

It MIGHT work…

The next one I propose is this...

Double Duty.JPG

The design on this one is fairly straight forward… with a twist. I like calling this one “Double Duty”

The outline (1) shows what I think should be metal reinforced, the same with the retaining fat flap (2).

The metal reinforcement should sandwich the pistol, front and back. That is the twist; this is theoretically designed as both an IWB and OWB. The sandwich design would help hold the mouth open during IWB carry and re-holstering. Having the “J” hooked belt straps reinforced would allow easy on and off and should also allow the IWB or OWB carry, sort of like Fist Inc. (FIST, Inc.) Inside/Outside holster. There would need to be adequate distance between the “J” hooks and the body of the holster (3) to provide for this of course.

This is my favorite – But I don’t know about the feasibility of it either…

I'm not sure if anyone here can do this, or something similar to this, or knows someone who can, so I am just tossing this out for discussion. If anyone thinks they can get this done feel free, I just want to be the first to "T&E" the pre-production model.

I had originally written these up with numbering and lines explaining the lines but am having a bit of a problem getting those to show up here, hopefully this works.

I haven't contacted anyone about these ideas yet, TT Gunleather does look like a good company... But, I was kind of hoping we had a holster maker somewhere here on this board.

I actually do frequent this board as often as possible.

I am unfortunately very backlogged right now so taking on another R&D project would probably not be a very good idea unless I can get caught up.

I am however more than open to discuss your ideas and give you my thoughts if you would like to give me a call.

I deeply apologize. I will try to get a hold of you in the next couple of days, as work permits, of course.

Thank you.
