The tool is not a necessity. It just makes life a little easier. You can pull the slide off the frame first and then deal with the FLGR and recoil spring assembly. You will need 2.5 hands and some practice to get the guide rod and dual spring assembly out that way, but it is possible. None of this is rocket science if you are a technical person. if you work in Finance or Real Estate you may want to take the class.

That sounds fun. I've never learned how to fully strip mine as I just got into guns about 4.5 years ago.

That would be great let me know next time your in SCAL


We have four members who want to do the class, I will get back to you all with some dates. In the meantime PM me if anyone else is interested.

If this works out well I will do Glocks next

A couple of items we need to talk about is how the control feed works, and how to evaluate the extractor tension. It'll give people a better idea of how the gun functions so if something does go wrong, you have some idea to look at.
