I am cracking up. A 4 page thread on washing cloths in the Gun Smithing section!

All I know is I buy the yellow micro fiber towels from Costco for I think $15 for 50 of them. When they get too dirty they go in trash.

I'm with you Bono. Don't be so cheap guys and buy a new rag for .50 cents and save the harassment from the wife.

The funny part is that those are the exact towels I was using that I washed in the washer. That's what I get for being a cheapskate.

To everyone else:

This is what the wife and I did to solve the problem: We hung out the clothes to hang dry out in the sun, then washed the clothes in baking soda. That got most of the smell out, but there is still a faint smell; even after multiple washes. Hopefully, it will fade over time. Thanks for all of the help and humor! This forum rocks!
