I am cracking up. A 4 page thread on washing cloths in the Gun Smithing section!

All I know is I buy the yellow micro fiber towels from Costco for I think $15 for 50 of them. When they get too dirty they go in trash.

I'm with you Bono. Don't be so cheap guys and buy a new rag for .50 cents and save the harassment from the wife.

Bono,

The funny part is that those are the exact towels I was using that I washed in the washer. That's what I get for being a cheapskate.

To everyone else:

This is what the wife and I did to solve the problem: We hung out the clothes to hang dry out in the sun, then washed the clothes in baking soda. That got most of the smell out, but there is still a faint smell; even after multiple washes. Hopefully, it will fade over time. Thanks for all of the help and humor! This forum rocks!

Now that is frigging funny! Even made me laugh, and that's hard to do.

actually using more detergent doesn't necessarily work better. Using enough detergent and soft water would work alot better in cleaning action. I think the simple green solution sounds the best....I actually use the stuff after working on a car. Just spray into hands and rub them together and rinse off...works like a charm. simple green does fight oil which I guess you seem to have.

Default Who doesn't love potion #9?

All these heartfelt responses ... I still trying to figure out why you would want to ameliorate a great smell?

IMHO: try MPro7 M-Pro 7 Weapon Cleaning Systems ......... its wife friendly, especially indoors

I still use Hoppe's 9 here/there, but MPro7 has been my go to for sometime now.

Agree with the diluted SimpleGreen
