Default Glock 26 Adjustable Sights

I just was given a Glock 26 by my father-in-law which has adjustable rear sights. They look like this:

Can anyone tell me what each of the screws does? I assume one of them moves the sight to the right and left. If so, which one? What does the other do? Up and down? Lock in place?

I'd prefer to know prior to messing around with them (father-in-law claims it shoots to the right - I have not shot it yet).

Thanks all....

One of those screws would move the sights left/right and the other would move them up/down. I don't know which one does what as I don't have a GLOCK with adjustable sights on it nor do I have my GLOCK manual handy. I know that someone (and perhaps several) people on this board will know the answer far better than I can ever answer. Just hang in there and someone will answer your question.

My glock 17 came with adjustable sights. Its an old one bought a long while back. I'll have to dig it up and get back to you. I'll check in tonight after work incase no one has gotten back to you on this.

I have had these sights on glocks... we have always considered them to be way too fragile for carry... I have seen several broken ones ... at least the ones that hang off of the back of the slide. Also, on my old glock 22, they used a different height front sight than the newer model rear... or the newer model rear is too low or something...I get so confused sometimes... is it lower the rear raise the front... something...never could figure the thing out and eventually drove it out of my life with a punch and ball peen hammer...

Anyway...ditched the adjustable thing and installed a fiber optic front and a factory "bucket" fixed rear... much more sturdy and easier to shoot too...

I checked my Glock 17 last night. It has only one screw and it adjusts elevation. My Glock 35 has a competion rear sight like the one in your picture. The rear screw adjusts for elevation. When facing the slide from the ejection port side, clockwise will lower impact. The forward screw is windage, clockwise brings impact to the right. Be aware that there no "clicks", adjustment is a smooth movement. El Gato is correct the sights are too fragile for carry, but they are great for target shooting.

First of all, what a great father-in-law and what a swell present!

But, I wonder what adjustable sights are are doing on a carry gun that can probably/easily pattern 4" groups at 25 yds with conventional sights anyway.

Anyway, have fun with the great gift!

As for the sights, I dunno! He got this from his nephew when his brother passed. My father-in-law was LEO (retired now) and seemed to be given a lot of different pistols over the years under similar circs. He tells me that his brother bought the gun when he was very sick and in a rest home. Apparently the staff there found the gun and were none too pleased.

It's obvious that the thing has been shot very little. I'd be surprised if there were more than a few boxes of ammo thru the pipe.
