I had 900 rounds thru my brand new CDP and the firing pin was FILTHY and so was the extractor.

I plan on doing a detailed clean every 1,000 rounds or so.

Yeah I was surprised how dirty/gunky the channels get. Even if you just did the slide portion of the detail strip. I think you have gone a long way and that part is not too bad.

Most of the gunk gets blown into the extractor channel and some goes into the firing pin channel, too.

I had a few more through my Ultra Carry II & was thankful the black hid most of the gunk! Pretty embarrassing...Let me know when you're cleaning next time - I will join you!

Nice set up, I wish I had the time to put into learning some of this stuff. I'm always nervous I'm going to jack something up beyond simple repair.
