You might want to pick out a new mainspring housing too, so you won't have to whine about the ILS you just bought.

Check out the one by EGW. Theirs are machined and not casted like the Smith Alexander. I have one for my commander build and I like it. Not as much to hone out in the spring channel either.

I believe your condition is refereed to as an addiction.

I get my stuff from Brownells and Midway. Double addiction.

It's a "healthy addiction"... everyone should catch it... ....shoot next thing I know someone will shake my foundations to the core and state there is a such a thing as too many guns....but I have faith and I know there is no such thing as too many guns...or too much ammo....or too many knives...or holsters...or..or..or......

Damn.. I will have to wait on getting the backstrap till after I get the gun or at least look at it again. Looking at this picture I'm trying to remember how the bottom mag section is attached

My son says I have "gas"... Gear Acquisition Syndrome.... wow now there is a name for it... but still no cure (as long as I stay under budget...fortunately SWMBO gives me a generous budget)

Forgot the TRP part of the gun. The mag well is integral to the MSH. I don't know if EGW makes one in that configuration. I know SA makes one because I have one. Not hard at all to install. Just need to adjust the mag well so it is flush with the bottom of the frame. You do need to get several additional parts:

Mainspring Housing pin retainer
Mainspring
Mainspring cap
Mainspring cap pin.

The mainspring for a 5" gun is normally 23#. Some will put as low as #19 to lighten the trigger pull. You may have to get a few in the range to try out to see what you like.

Now if you can make a phone call with the MSH, that would be something!

It is a cool setup but not very practical for conceal carry.

OK, so you are getting a TRP, removing the mainspring housing to get rid of the ILS and get a lanyard ring, changing out the guide rod for a standard shorty, replacing the guide rod plug--you should have gotten the Kimber Warrior! Hey, tinkering is good for the soul!
