Default TechPlate: Good Refinishing Reputation?

I need to get a revolver hard chromed.

Does TechPlate of Anaheim, CA have a good reputation for refinishing?

Yes, they do! They also are one of a few hard chromers around.

I have a Terry Tussey gun with TechPlate HC. I've had it for about 10 years and and it looks like brand new. Has about 100 rounds through it, maybe that's why.
Make sure surfaces are perfect before considering HC (No pitting or gouges, etc.). HC brings out every imperfection and it will not looks good after. TechPlate offers other finishes that are more forgiving.

Is there a durable dark finish that can be applied over stainless steel?

Kimber does it on all their 'blued' slides. So does SIG-Sauer. There is a ton of finishes out there these days. I can't keep track of them.

We had CCWI's stainless steel Para lower 'blackened' at Techplate and it came out really nice. We'll see how time does it's thing to the finish but the work I've had done there has been outstanding so far.
