Default Where to Buy 1911 Grips

My dad has a Norinco copy of a 1911A1. It came with cheap plastic grips (damn commies) and I was thinking about buying him some nice looking -- but not too expensive - wooden ones. Where's the best place to look?

Thanks...not terribly an issue, but I wasn't sure what grips cost for the gun. I know the folks here like their 1911's.

I got a pair of government sized rosewood grips for my Custom II for $34.99 from Brownells. They aren't the high quality polished ones, but they work for me.

Grips? I've never heard them referred to by that slang.

Her products are very unique. No two sets are the same.

I found some very nice wood 1911 grips at Cheaper Than Dirt - America's Ultimate Shooting Sports Discounter

I bought two pairs just in case they were not as nice as in the pic on the website, but both were very nice. I sold the extra pair to a friend and made additional $10 ...... he's still a friend.

There is a seller on ebay who is retired army, he sells 1911 grips on ebay. Just type in "1911 grips".

I thought I'd share my happiness with the group! I looked her up and fell in love..... with one of her grips!! The wood is naturally black so if I scratch it it won't show too bad like bluing. The wood isn't too glossy but has a nice finish. The design is done very nicely and the wood is solid. I kept going back to look at it imagining how it would look on the Kimber so I gave in!! I couldn't be happier!!
