Since the Colt 380 (Government/Mustang/Pocketlite) seems to be on its way to becoming the #2 most desired carry gun on the board (after the Kimber Ultra CDP II), I thought I would post this after I ran into this issue last night. An hour to figure out (it was late and I was tired
), 10 seconds to fix.It has been said that this will happen to every Colt 380 owner at some point. When you're cleaning/reassembling your Colt, you accidentally push the ejector down a little below the slide rail, and CRAP! Can't get it back in place. Here's the fix complete with pictures. Use a flat head screwdriver of proper width rather than a toothpick...I tried for a while with a tiny screwdriver and wasn't able to get it. You have to depress the sear spring fully, and the hammer must be cocked back. Colt Mustang Plus II Troubleshooting |

380?
380? Seems like all I ever heard about on this site was 45's and sparks versimax's... If we are carrying a 380... once we fix the ejector thing... what do we feed it?

The Mustang/Pocketlite fit the bill for #3 - and it's a 1911 . Other favorites are snubnose .38's, Glock 26/27/39, and the small Kahrs.Yes it's a .380, but you get to stay with the 1911 platform. If your primary is a Glock/HK/Sig then it's not nearly as compelling. Quote:

Yes I have one too... an Astra Constable II... kinda like a walther only lighter, better trigger.. much, much, much better trigger! and goes bang every time I pull the trigger... I used to deny it... kept it hidden away for emergencies...now I go to this nice "group" and have come to grips with my problem... I am a closet 380 owner...and now I am out of the closet!

Hi guys... since we are all part of this sub-caliber group... I thought I would confess that I have an affinity for the 32-20 .. The last gun was a 9mm...the gun before last was a swell Colt Army spl. in 32-20...see... I can even talk about my sub-caliber "stuff" and I am not ashamed, I'm not... really....I'm not even nervous or, or...anything...
Speaking of the Colt 380... I was inventorying (is that a word?) our gun locker at the Dept. I work for. I am preparing to do a firearms class and am looking for guns for the class. I found this really nice Mustang govt. model in the locker and seized it for my class. I saved one of our friends... the 380... from the "crusher"... I did a good deed...Once I have the court orders done and the paperwork in to b.a.t.f.e. (no caps...they are like a minor diety in my book)... I will get to take all of this cool stuff out and shoot it....I plan to acquire about 100 guns that were bound for destruction and use them for dept. training....that's cool.. it's like saving a life or a puppy or something...all of those beretta's, smiths, raven's, jennings, H&R shotguns....and a cool sxs 16ga... needed one of those... I'm sure I can use it for training...
