Question Bobbed ambi-safety for Kimber Ultras?

Anyone know of anyone other than Kimber that sells these? The stainless part is out of stock, and I'm impatient.

I'll keep googling.

I think it looks good, but I also think you pasted in the wrong thread

I called a local Kimber dealer who says he can get the bobbed safety in stainless, even though Kimber is out of em. We'll see tomorrow when I actually place the order I guess.

DO NOT GET THE BOOBED KIMBER SAFETY. It sucks! hard edges and way to short.

If you are looking for that because of laser grips, remove from the underside of the current safety, it works and looks great.

I want one of those BOOBED safeties.

Sorry, couldn't resist that one.

You're correct, this is for accommodating lasergrips.

Remove from the underside, but keep the length? I had actually thought about just modifying the current safety, but I thought the process was to shorten it... I didn't realize giving it a weight reduction was an option.

After finding that Kimber offered the part for $21 or so I figured I'd just order it, but if I could keep the length of the safety I'd really like to.

You don't happen to have any pics, do you?

Thanks!

Update:
I found a bobbed safety locally (I asked, they didn't have any boobed ones in available) and picked it up / just finished installing it in my Kimber. I agree that the edges aren't as smooth as the original safety, but they aren't necessarily sharp either.

I'd really like to see some pics of a safety modified the way that CCWInstructor mentioned above... I just don't see how it could be done in such a way that allows enough room for the laser diode.

Original safety pic:
