Hey Hy,
I have not yet... Been catching up with old bills and put the idea on the back burner. I'm still thinking I'll have it done down the road. I don't have any metal working tools myself.

I'm just curious if anyone can compare the concealability of a government size bobtail frame with a standard officer size frame (assuming same barrel length, beavertail, etc.).

You will love it. I have a Compact and an Ultra CDP II and they are both sweet shooters.

The pro is very nice as well.

I have a KimberTLE / RLII that I made into a bob-tail. It fits my hands great and the only downside I can see is for a magwell. It doesn't lend itself well to any that I've seen off the shelf. I guess I could whittle one out on the mill, but there's too many other toys I want to make first.

Can anyone comment on which is more concealable, and officer's size frame or the bob-tail modification on a government size frame?

The bobtail design is specifically to help reduce the corner of the frame from printing. So the design itself performs what it was created for. I have a Dan Wesson C-Bob and it does help.

As for concealment. It would depend upon your holster whether it is OWB or IWB. IWB won't be a problem in concealment for either size, but OWB you will need a little more cloth to cover the longer barrel.
