Default Glock 30 Slide Spring Fixed

So I thought it was broke, fixed it, then it started acting up again so I took it into the gunsmith today. Turns out some glocks were assembled with the wrong size slide lock spring and it was getting wedged when I compressed the spring to field strip the gun. The gunsmith told me he'd just file down the spring so it wouldn't get caught up which I didn't mind, but it turned out he had a replacement. So I got the spring swapped out for free and it's better than new!

I'm just glad I didn't need to depend my life on the glock as the slide fell off.

As previously stated.. practice what Glock calls "reset" of the trigger and even if the thing breaks.. it will work in an emergency... good luck with the gun.. they are very reliable under normal circumstances...

protectmine, I may have been unclear and my apologies for that. I have never had a problem with my Glocks. I was just concerned with the Glock 30, since I own one and wanted to keep posted on any problems others may have had with theirs.

I'm glad to see everything worked out for Dglock30!

Thanks for your advise, if I had a problem with any of my Glocks then yes, I would either contact my local gun shop or, ship it back to Glock for repair. I did have a recall many years ago on my Glock 23 and they corrected a trigger problem, and then shipped it back to me in a relatively short period of time!

Glock on!!!

DO NOT EVER DO THAT AGAIN!!!!! It came to a stop when the extractor hit the back of the round. ALWAYS feed the round from the magazine so it slides under the extractor and then feeds it into the barrel. That is why it jammed

Not only that, it can also break your extractor if you load rounds that way. There may be a few semiauto handguns that you can load that way without hurting them or causing feed jams, but Glocks aren't one of them. Feed them the way CCWInstructor says. Always feed it from the magazine.

+1. I hear you can chip or brake the extractor doing that.
Always feed from the magazine as the firearm was designed to do.
