Default Uncle Paul's Exchange in Ventura

Uncle Paul's is a gun shop in East Ventura. I went there yesterday to get a quote on a Dan Wesson CBOB. We yakked for a bit on guns and when I turned to leave they mentioned my empty holster and told me that I don't have to disarm to come into the store.

Huh? Wha? You mean Uncle Paul's is a gun store that doesn't mind people carrying guns inside? What a concept.

Anyway, cool folks there with their heads on straight. (and their gun prices are way cheaper too)

I sure hope that wasnt an IWB holster, 'cause then they would have been looking WAY too closely inside your pants!

First, it was 4 thousand degrees yesterday (santa ana winds etc) so I didn't have, or want to wear, a jacket.

Second, I'm not allowed to dress "sloppy" or "casual" during working hours. (I'm an attorney so no untucked shirts even if I'm wearing a golf shirt and jeans.)

Third, I had just come from the range and had been practicing drawing from my belt holster during the session so that's the holster I was wearing.

Fourth, I don't have my rice paper yet (2 weeks!) so cannot carry concealed yet. As the weapon was locked in it's gun bag it would have been exceedingly silly and vain to unlock it, remove it and holster it empty just so I could open carry it into the store, then reverse the process when I returned to the car 10 minutes later. I am not a

I liked the ankle holster with shorts explanation better.

With all do respect.....I would think twice about walking around with an empty holster if I was unarmed. Just saying.....

Anyway very cool that the gunshop does not prohibit legal carry at his shop.

A lot don't allow it. Others have gone the route of exempting LEO and CCW holders from the (all guns must be checked at counter) policy, which is a great idea too.

Thanks for sharing!
