Default The Grant Boys "Costa Mesa"

Until today they were in the Not So Friendly to CCWs group by virtue of their stop sign at the front door asking everybody regardless of their legal status to disarm.

Hot off the presses this is their new policy straight from Randy himself.

Quote:
I took a look at the STOP sign and the front door and removed it. The sign was ambiguious. I have decided to change the copy to read as follows:

STOP!
PLEASE CHECK IN ALL FIREARMS WITH CASHIER
NO LOADED GUNS BEYOND THIS POINT
Law Enforcement and CCW Holders exempt

You may certainly share this with everyone. The new sign may take a while to have repainted, my artist is kinda of slow, so we would appreciate it if CCW and Law Enforcement personnel who are armed would just give us a heads up.

Randy
Major props!!!

Welcome to The Grant Boys

I'll wait until the sign is up. I prefer not to advertise to people that I don't know. Because of there being fewer and fewer places to practice the Art of the Bang Bang, I'm pretty sure to meet them again sometime in the future. When I first received my permit, I was at Stockade shopping for holsters. A friend who had heard that I was approve came straight up to me and started a casual (to him) conversation about, did you go, are you packing now, etc, etc. Sometimes people don't realize what is cool to them is personal to others.

I did not know they had any. Last time I went in there the guys behind the counter were too busy shooting the breeze. I think that was maybe 5 years ago. I put my money where my mouth is and buy from a store that apreciates my business. I suggest you do the same.

Trust me I do. I am lucky to live near Bullseye in San Rafael. Bill and his boys have the danged finest customer service I have come across in a long while.

Prices are good too. For me, price is a factor in my decisions on where to shop for firearms. I don't know about you, but I am more than willing to pay a few extra bucks for excellent service.

I agree with you 100%. Customer service is King! If you find excellent pricing with great customer service, that's when you know you found the 'guy'. Stick with the good one, let the rest do their thing.

Yeah, but Heritage Gun Room, The Firing Line and Cliff's Gunsmithing are all gone.

Default Grant's vs Ade's

FYI - There is a great little gunshop called Ade's in Orange on Tustin Ave just south of Chapman. It just opened about 3 years ago. You do have to have an extra 1-2 hours since they tend to be very busy doing lots of DROS' .... Prices are good/fair and Ade is agreat guy. I have seen him answer the dumbest question with a smile and a pleasant correction of fact ...

I am looking for a new range bag. I went to On Target, didn't find what I wanted. Was going to go to Grant Boys but remembered the sign on the door and decided against it. Good to know they are being more lenient, hopefully customer service will improve.

Yes, they did change it after all the pressure on the owner on another board. They now have their new sign posted saying LEO and CCW is exempt.

Do they still want off-duty LEOs and CCW holders to notify staff? I understood that while the sign was being painted that they wanted a "heads up", but are they still expecting the notification with the sign now being up?
