The sign doesn't say anything about notifying them. Unless you had on a hat or shirt or your license plate said "I CCW" on it, then they won't know. As far as I'm concerned why would they need to know about it. It's the ones out in the open, and being used, that they need to worry about.

I went by there a couple of weeks ago - at least I think I did, the place I was at just had a sign that said "Gun Shop." Waited to be buzzed in, and the place was PACKED. About 20 customers waiting, 2 people behind the counter.

I only had my lunch hour so I couldn't wait but I'll try them again.

One of these days I'll have to tell the story of Randy and the Code 999 revolver.

Sorry to jump in the discussion so late, but I just joined the forums.

I used to work at Grant's from early 2005 till the summer of 2006 (about a year and a half, a little less maybe) as a simple afterschool gig while I attended UCI.

I can tell you that sign didn't mean jack. I think in a year and a half I had maybe three guys declare they were carrying. But we do have a lot of people come in who are not so gun savvy looking to sell off guns they've gone into posession of (inhertence, gifts, whathaveyou) and so we kinda like to have the gun cleared at the door. It was a safety thing because the guys behind the counter were not allowed to carry (unlike many gun stores I've been to where they are armed).

As for Randy and his business...well, let's just say I'm glad I'm working at J and J now. I won't bad-mouth Grants openly because there are a few good people who work there despite all the bull****.

My buddy and I passed by Grant Boys today. The STOP sign was up and does have the LEO and CCW excemptions printed on there. The staff was very helpful and accomodating. I guess that I will give them more of my business.

If you guys get a chance to work with JandJDude over at J&J Armory, do so. He's a great kid and very knowledgeable. He also doesn't mind spending time talking about our favorite subject...even with old guys like me! I picked up a nice Kimber from him and will be back!
