Default bad CCW experience in Monterey

I've had CCW's some years ago in San Diego CA, Virginia, Florida, and Oregon. In 2002 we were considering relocating to Monterey County where we had lived some time ago. I applied for a CCW in 2004, writing this info:

Good Cause information removed by staff

I decided *not* to add "Since 9/11 I wish to be able to protect myself and others under any terrorist threat." This was advised on one CA gun forum.

I got a very warm reception to my application in the interview from Officer Greg Clark, in charge of CCW's. He said everything looked very good, especially my record of being cool-headed in hand-to-hand combat, and he looked forward to working with me on the shooting range. However, a month later I got a later saying it was denied for insufficient cause.

We then moved to Oregon. I visit CA once in awhile, and if I have my revolver I lock it unloaded in my S&W case and any ammo in a separate locked S&W case. Is there any county in N CA that might issue a CCW for regular visitors from OR?

Thanks.

Lester

I believe you have to be a California resident to be issued a Cal CCW.

The only non-resident CCWs issued will be if your employment address is in the jurisdiction in which you apply. 12050 (a)(1)(D)(ii)

FYI - Your ammo does not have to be in a separate locked container. It just can't be in the same locked container as the revolver when transporting it.

FYI, I believe those are only 90 day permits.
