Default Few questions about the process

I have a few questions that I couldn't find answers too.

1) Do I have to take the course of training before or after the application or does it not matter?

2) On the application there are 3 spots to put the make, model, caliber, etc. but after I put those in are they permanent or can they be changed later on or in my case added on since I only have one handgun?

3) In Section 2 #8 ask to list all traffic violations. Do I put the date I got my ticket or conviction date? Under "agency" do I put my county or the court house or the type of law enforcement who issued the ticket? Also, I have a DMV print out that's less then a year old and I can't find the Citation number. Is it the same as the "docket" number?

3) Where can I take the CCW training course in Orange County? How long is it and whats the average cost of the course.

#1 You need/should take the training course after you receive "approved for further processing" letter from the OCSD. After you turned in your applicaion. Mihgt take 10 to 14 days from interview. Your letter from the OCSD will give you all the information you need to know.

#2 no problem adding a handgun or changing a handgun. If you are set on one try to buy it and DROS it before your last CCW training class. Then you can qualify with it at the class and list it when you get your license for the first time. Otherwise you will need to return to the armory and OCSD later.

#3 I am going to refer this to other members. But I think you will be ok listing the date of ticket and agency writing the ticket. If you attach or bring your DMV print out that is ok too. Just think common sense.

#3 When you receive your appoved for further processing letter from OCSD they will list the approved instuctors you can use for your training. It is 16 hours of training. I think there were 3 or 4 listed approved trainers on the letter. I went with Greg Block. Self Defense Firearms Training - Be Safe, Be Confident, Get Trained!. His classes are held at On Target in South Orange County. I highly recommend him. I think the cost was about $220 for the class. Please forgive me if my price quote is a little off. Either way the class well worth the money.

It sounds like you have a good idea and plenty of thought into the application process and are headed in the right direction.
Best of luck with your application.
