Default Good Enough?

Okay.

I found this site, registered, and have some procedures to follow, but my biggest concern is the good cause, and what will fly, or what I should avoid, or if my cause is "good" enough for Ventura County. If my cause isn't "good" enough, should I even bother proceeding?

BTW, this goes without saying, but thanks to all those who pioneered through this on your own and are availing yourselves to help us newbies.

Hopefully, members of this site will be able to help you refine your Good Cause once you've written it.

Default good cause

For example, my concern is that Ventura issues "Ventura Only" ccws for those that work specifically in the county -- they are for concealed carry in Ventura only.

My office is in Ventura County, as is my residence, but my work takes me to, lets say less than fantastic areas of Los Angeles. I was planning on molding my good cause around that so I am not restricted to VC.

Most counties permits are valid state wide. I was unaware that Ventura Co. permits were restricted to the county only. It would not hurt to try for an unrestricted or less restricted permit, but getting the permit in the first place should be your main goal. Once you have had it for a while you may be able to have the restriction lifted.
Best of luck with your endeavor and do not be afraid to ask for help with some of our more accomplished good cause folks.

Default Ccw

I was basing my info off the VCSD website under the CCW section.

The way I interpret it is if you work in VC and need the permit in VC, then they restrict the CCW to VC???

But since most of my work is outside of VC....

Reading the info HERE I don't see any mention of the Sheriff restricting CCWs other than the Employment Only 90 day limit which is per PC 12050.

Default ???

2. If approved, how long is my CCW permit valid?

Residents of Ventura County may obtain a permit that is valid for two (2) years and then must be renewed. A person who obtains a permit because of their employment in Ventura County may obtain a permit that is valid only in Ventura County and only for 90 days.

Last part, only in Ventura, and only for 90 days? What is this, like if you have a temporary stalker? Or am I totally reading this wrong?

That is if you are not a resident of Ventura County and your CCW is issued based on employment there. The CCW is then only good for 90 days per Penal Code. As a resident of Ventura County, this would not apply to you.

BTW, these 90 day CCWs are basically never issued.
