Sonoma Co. resident looking for help getting started
I am a lifelong Sonoma County resident and have recently decided to apply for a CCW license. I have been shooting and hunting since my preteen years and am now 31 years old. I do not own a pistol but plan on buying one soon. What do I need to do first to get the process started? Should I buy a pistol, practice with it for a while, then get the application, or can I apply right away and get the pistol while the application is going through? If i brought up statistics of crime in my residential area, would that help as good cause? There have been increasing incidents in the county of people being shot or stabbed for no apparent reason except being in the "wrong place at the wrong time". I am tired of feeling vulnerable in my own city. I have confronted people in my front yard that were looking in my cars and home windows at night, and have had my life threatened by them. Luckily for me, they didn't have or use a weapon... yet. What can I do to make the process go smoothly?
