So I would interpret that policy as meaning that they expect to approve most people.
Placer County requires that you take the training before applying as well.

Chris Ewens of Bullseye Tactical Firearms Training (guninstructor.com) is another source for your training needs. Good relaxed instruction in a wonderful outdoor setting. Highly recommend.

Just curious: is that 100 rounds per weapon, or the total amount fired for qualifying? That is if you are going to list the 3 allowable weapons on your license. Three weapons at 100 rounds total, equals 33 and 1/3 rounds per firearm...

Here in Humboldt for the initial training required 1st before the interview, we were required to fire 50 rounds per the weapon to be listed on our license. The instructor recorded weapon models, caliibers, and serial numbers onto the NRA paperwork. Renewals are 25 rounds required per firearm to requalify, at the range.

Based on your good experience maybe I will give them a another try but, I was not too happy the CCW class I took with Bullseye. We wasted a lot of time, shot about 60% of the number of rounds advertised, and had more people in the class then advertised. I think he has a nice place to shoot and the content was good but I could not stand all the wasted time. We where there from 8:00am until after 7:00pm and where not training the hole time. He said he is planning to build a classroom, which should help as we had to use his home dining room with many distractions.

I have been through his CCW twice (once with a friend just because...) and enjoyed each trip. Tying to find time to do a couple of his other classes. I never went inside during either of the classes. Class content had to be covered (Thank you Perata) but the shooting was good. The night shoots was really good, much better than turning out the light on an indoor range.

First, I appologize for the late response to your question. No excuse really, just a senior moment in my Mid-forties.
I really don't know how the 100 rounds works across multiple weapons. I've had to put off my training until after I return from SoCal. I'll sign up for training again in late September, answer questions, share my thoughts and take you through the rest of my application process as it happens.

Thanks for all the support.
