Question CCW in Shasta County

First, let me appologize if the answer is already posted somewhere. But, I don't find any info about the application process specific to Shasta County. I want to be sure that I'm well informed before making an attempt. Can anyone out there provide me with some info?

This is the only info found on the Sheriffs website:
Concealed Weapon Permits
The office hours for applying and/or renewing concealed weapon permits are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (excluding holidays), between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM. The current renewal fee is $64.00 for a 2-year permit; however, if your permit has been expired for more than 30 days, the fee is $77.00. All renewals require a four-hour firearms safety refresher course. If your permit is expired for over one year, you may be required to attend a full firearms safety course. If you wish to apply for a permit, this department now requires certification in firearms safety. This office provides a partial list of classes available in the local area. You may obtain this list at the main office, located at 1525 Court Street. The current fee for a new permit is $160.00.

Adult Handgun Safety/Firearms Safety is offered at a majority of the Califonia Community Colleges. For further information, please contact your local community college or one of the colleges listed below:

This sounds like a good start. I am not sure how liberally they issue, but from the information on the website it sounds good. Maybe someone else who is more in the know will chime in soon.

I can help with most questions. If I don' know an answer, your Sheriff Tom Bosenko will answer them for me.

You have a very cool Sheriff. I've know him for years.

I've started another thread to track my progress through the application process. I don't know if the senior members want to lock this one. May I request it to be locked?

Senior and Founding members can not lock threads. Only CalCCW staff can do that.

Per Your request. . . It is now locked
