Default Going to attmept a CCW app for CoCo County

I have been reading some disturbing things about attempting to get a CCW in CoCo county.

I have had a CCW before, in PA. The process was quite simple. I am afraid that I am going to go through a great deal of effort for naught.

I live in Richmond and I am not sure is the CoCo county Sheriff will deny just because of geography. I do know that my local PD has turned the CCW process over the the county.

I am not going to outline, word for word my "good clause" statement, however I want to get a read on it.

(Please do not post your good cause. We have this rule to protect you. If you want someone to review this, send an email to member CCWInstructor with "Good Cause" in the subject line. - CalCCW Staff)

Much Thanks

Sorry for having to make you edit my post. I only noticed that I made a boo-boo after I read further. I took you advice.

Still, does anyone have any thoughts on how hard it is in CoCo county these days?

Much Thanks Again.

Default I thought that might be the case

Thanks Mike, I was afraid that might be the case. If others feel this way then I am not going to move forward. Why waste the money.

Damn!! I am upside down on my condo so I am not moving anywhere soon.

No problem at all. I wish you were in a better county.

I wish I were as well.

I read the county thread. I was hoping that things might have changed. Who knows, My "Good Cause" might be the ticket. I will await a reply from a PM I sent out.

If you sent it to CCWInstructor it may be a couple of days, he's on the road right now, I don't know if he has forum or PM access. He does check his email on the road, so you might send it to greg (at) firearmstraining.com with "good cause review" in the subject line.

Contra Costa is hard. Not as bad as San Francisco, better than Los Angeles, Santa Clara or Alameda, but not nearly as good as Orange County, Merced, Fresno, etc.

Greg will set you right. Please let us know how it goes, reports from people trying is they only way we can keep up with the various counties.

Good luck!

CCWI will be the one to tell you if you have a chance. Hopefully that is who you PM'd

Thank you all for the information. I am going to go ahead and request the application from the county.

Special thanks to CCWInstructor for a prompt response from the road. I appreciate the info.

I will keep everyone updated as to it's progress so that we can all share the updated information on this process with CoCo county.

Much Thanks
