Good luck.

I'll be following this closely, as I'm right next door in Pinole.

Good luck. If CCWI says you have the best chance yet that means a lot as he knows as much as anyone about the possibilities. Hope all works out well.

Default I've officially started

I filled out my app today and am just waiting on my three letters of recommendation.

Katheryn at the CoCo Sheriff's office was very helpful.

Does anyone have any additional advice?

make sure you send your "Good Cause" to CCWI for a once over and remember not to post it publicly

Also, since Katheryn was helpful, you should ask if anything else is required. Perhaps utility bills to prove your residency or maybe other pre-qulifications. Each county is different.

I did send it and he thought that I had a legitimate shot. As for the rest, I will wait to see if they pass me to the next level. Then I play to speak with Katheryn again to see what will make this easier.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Seriously, talk to her again now, before you submit. Odds are good that if it's a business based cause they'll want a copy of your business license, if it's money based they'll want bank statements. They may want utility bills. If you can have that with you when you go in for the original application it gets rid of one trip back, speeds up everything and makes their life easier.

That first judgement by them - getting approved for further processing - is the BIG hurdle. After that it's just background check, taking the class and getting your weapons inspected.

I'll take that advice and give her a call right now to see what else might be needed.

Thanks for the push.

I called and she said nothing else is needed. I should hear from "her Lieutenant" within a week.

Fingers crossed.

I took Melissa a mix CD.

(It was right after she and my wife had their babies, it was lullabies.)

Default An Update

I heard from the Lt.

He needed a letter from my local PD stating that they either refused me or that they do not issue ccw's... or the name of anyone who told me this.

He also told me that everything else was in order and that, upon receipt of this letter (I faxed and confirmed the receipt) that he would set up an interview.

That was last week. I have heard nothing since.

Anyone have any thoughts or advice?
