Default Not trying to justify it…

…Just trying to figure it out. After all, going through the process, at least after passing the GC hurdle, is pretty much a B.I. process, and that part I know.

Every B.I. is unique, and generalizations will always come back to bite you. Still, if carrying large sums of case is part of his GC, they certainly have at least an excuse.

A bank statement would provide further evidence of a person's address, and will even show that the person has been at least living in the community for some period of time. There would be other indications of a stable lifestyle.

Forget the account balances, a bank statement would tell me quite a bit about a person, having little to do with money.

But is the request justified? Good question.

Default Just a hurtle

Bank statements are a hurtle. Probably nothing to do with the process. It happened to me. Every time I brought in the requested documentation, there was something else. Make another appointment.

Wouldn't utility bills accomplish that?

Depending on what his good cause is (and we don't discuss that publicly) bank statements are supporting documentation.

Umm isn't this what a background check is for??
On my app I did not even need to show references.
They get your fingerprints, SSN, CDL. This is all they should need, what with everything electronic these days. I am certain that with the listed above info there is enough to find out everything about a person.
Should not your business license be enough?
Requiring bank statements is simply voyeurism.

NOT if that supports the person's Good Cause! Its a necessity in some people's cases. And because I don't like mentioning possible GC's, I will leave it at that.

But he was responding to a post that said it might help to establish residency. In that context, he's right.
