Default Bay Area CCW

Hey, I'm new on the boards but I've been reading up on a couple things. I went through the FAQ and read some threads in this section. I know it's hard to get a CCW in the Bay Area, but was wondering if any of you thought I actually had reasonable cause.

Welcome aboard from the staff and founding members.

Yes the bay area is almost impossible. Your GC could possibly work in other areas, but your location will make any attempt unlikely for success.

Enjoy the forum and help us all work towards the Shall issue goal.

I'm going to call the local PD and sheriff's departments to inquire about this. I don't even know anybody in the area that has a CCW, or anybody that even talks about it.

Calling is simply a waste of your time and energy as you will receive response you will not like. Your best bet is check on their website and see if they have CCW application policy. What part of the Bay Area are you in? I probably can pass you my experience if you are in the same county I use to be in. Overall, the Bay Area is not CCW friendly to ordinary citizen like you and I. SF is worst.
You can PM me if you want.

Hey there! What part of the bay area are you in? I tried checking the SJPD and Santa Clara County Sheriff websites, but they didn't have any contacts or links or information regarding the CCW application process.

I am in San Mateo. I suggest you send a certified letter with return receipt requesting copy of their CCW Policy and an Application. That way you have a leg to stand on if they ignore you and you filed a complaint. Also with certified letter they know you are creating paper trail.

Santa Clara county currently, as well as Alameda county. I may just write them a letter, see where it gets me.
