Default Question for Ca CCW holders

I have heard that when some agencies issue a Ca CCW they also issue a pictured CCW ID card. How many of you CCW holders have been issued a Laminated CCW ID along with your CCW?

I've never heard of that in California. I have a plastic picture ID Nevada CCW...

Whoever told you that is misinformed.

I've never heard of that either. I've heard of some agencies laminating the paper, but I haven't heard of any CA agencies issuing a separate CCW ID card.

He is asking the wrong question. The question should be "Do some agencies put photo's on the ccw lisc. and laminate them like ID cards?" The answer is YES!

This I haven't heard of, but it doesn't really surprise me.

No, I asked the question correctly. I have seen PD CCW ID cards issued to Ca CCW holders and was wondering if it was standard through out the state.

Here is a quote from another PD CCW policy:

D. The licensee shall be issued a standard DOJ CCW license (form FD 4501), with the expiration date, type of weapon, restrictions and other pertinent information clearly visible. The licensee shall also be issued a Police Department CCW ID. card, bearing the same information.

1. Each license shall clearly identify the licensee.
2. The Police Department CCW ID. card must be carried on the person of
the licensee anytime the licensee is armed pursuant to his/her CCW license
3. All licenses shall be subject to inspection by the Chief of Police or any police officer upon request.

PM sent to K-dog

My last post should have stated "I have now seen them". As a result of the posts I guess they are not issued as a general rule in Ca. I do not have a Ca CCW and was just asking for input from those who do and would know.

Thanks to those who replied.

Is this standard? No. I've never seen or heard of anything like this. As far as a place on the ccw for a picture, yes. It's on there, but the permit is the same everywhere. It's a "rice paper" square which is standard. A long time ago, it was larger with a question section about convictions which had to be folded a lot to get it to fit anywhere. ID card style with all that text...nope...not in California.
