I clicked "prior to knowing anyone here" which isn't quite accurate.

I was sheriff approved before knowing anyone here. I met Greg in his class for the sheriff approved CCW training. So, technically, I was past the hard part. DOJ/FBI/gun inspection ~ pfft. Easy.

Found out today that mine is "in the mail"...........such a deal. Pretty painless procedure here in Placer County. But then, I am a "model citizen"...........

Default CCW issued

Got my CCW permit today. Six weeks after my interview.......no problems....just took some time to process. Taking a trip to Houston next week, so the timing couldn't be better. Texas honors Calif CCW permits, and that city is (in my opinion) a mess. Lots of "post-Katrina" riff-raff there, crime rate is way up last 2 years. Some bad gangs there, in force.

Question is, which gun do I take? HK USP-Cmct in .40 cal, or "go small" w/ a Sig P232??? Any comments or opinions?

I didn't realize ANY state honored CA's ccw's... For anyone else that was under the same impression, check here.

We also have a list of all of the states that currently accept the CA CCW. It should be the most up to date list, but always check that states website first.

Did you just step out of the outhouse today and find out only one state honors your CA-CCW? It's been 14 states for over a year. 13 states for three years prior.

You need to:

A) spend less time in the outhouse.

or

B) Find a Better CCW instructor.
