On a routine traffic stop do you wait for the police officer to verbally ask for your DL/insurance & registration with your hands at 10 & 2 o'clock and If he does ask do you also give the officer your CCW license? If he asked for your concealed weapon do you hand the weapon loaded or unloaded?

You hand him your ccw with you CDL. If they want the gun, they will ask for it loaded. They will unload it.

Default ccw

Have you ever been in that situation? In safety don't you perform the safe handling demonstration of unloading the weapon before handing it to another person?

This is the wrong thread for car stop questions. But in a car stop, once you've given the officer your CCW and he is aware that you are carrying, he will tell you exactly what he wants you to do. Then you do it.

NO Officer will allow you to manipulate the firearm. They want it handed to them as is.

LOL that's funny

I have had my CCW for almost 13 years and have had one in two different counties.

I believe you replied to one of my earlier posts on "reciprocal states". Yes, I had bad info---actually got it from a guy who used to offer classes for handgun safety, in preparation for applying for a CCW permit. But it was my fault, not his. I could have done more//better research, and gotten the facts before I posted. My bad.........

You have an HK logo near/on some of your posts. My "primary" carry gun is a USP-Compact in .40 cal. Is there any JHP you'de recommend over others, or more importantly "recommend against"? I keep it loaded w/ Golden Saber most of the time. I also have a decent amount of Winchester Ranger LE subsonic stuff.

Last question for you....what's your opinion of subsonic 147 grain 9mm ammo when used in a Beretta Model 92? The gun is "like new" and probably has less than 1500 rounds thru it. Seems like lots of guys out there say "no" any 9mm ammo heavier than 124 grains. Pls advise. Thanx.

I hope I did you a favor and did not offend you as I started a thread in the guns and ammo section addressing your questions. You will get a LOT more replys over there. Good luck to you!

Default Applied and Denied

I applied 2 years ago after being the victim of a violent crime (attempted murder) and got denied. Can't really blame the Sheriff's department for the denial, the guy was sentenced to 11 years and in their opinion "the threat no longer exists."

It's just disappointing that you need to prove that your life has value before you are allowed to protect it.
