Thanks! I ran into Keith while I was there to sign/print my permit and he mentioned another meet. We need to try to get together again. Weather is cooperating now too.

yes, indeed. I'll be setting something up, probably in early-mid March. Keep your eyes peeled for it... or not.

Congratulations eschew2! Time to make the official nacho run and don't forget the Pepto chaser.
Those of you with your permits, just shoot a PM to GunSlut for your icon... He's the go to man.

Default Denied, Then Approved Riverside

I received my California CCW on April 1st 2011. This happened only after my initial denial and a proceeding discussion with the CCW team at the Riverside Sheriff’s department.

I began the process in October 2010 so the process took 7 months. All of my paperwork was complete and I had all documents and monies when I initially submitted. When I was denied, the follow up was about 6 weeks.

My original good cause was what I perceived it should be, singularly focused. After I was originally denied, I called and had a clarifying conversation with the RCSD team. They were very supportive and extremely helpful. Being denied for me was actually a benefit. I am now comfortable with the process as well as educated on the requirements. I feel I can now help anyone better understand the qualifications and what is required in a good cause statement as well as all of the required documentation.

The team at the Riverside County Sheriff Department CCW team is really great to work with. I’m not sure what the other counties have but if you live in Riverside, consider yourself lucky to have such a committed team to work with.

One more Thank You. Keith thanks for the review of my GC. The time you commit is utterly selfless. The time you commit to your fellow citizens of Riverside County makes me happy to live in this county. Your commitment to our community is amazing. I look forward to sharing a meal sometime; I believe Nacho’s is the way to go.

Thanks brother. I'm going to take you up on the nachos. I am also going to ask you to stick around the forum and assist those who come after you. I spend much time helping others in this forum with no other remuneration than the satisfaction that I am helping our society. I feel it is my duty after the members here helped to get me through the process. I hope you can help others complete the process.

Getting denied and then appealing and getting the permit is EPIC! You join the elite of the elite. Congrats dude.

Keith

The "Rice Paper" is actually NCR carbon paper to make multiple copies from a single impression. I work with a lot of the stuff so it looked pretty familiar to me.
