Default Hello all from Sac.

I really have been putting some thought into trying to get a permit recently. My girlfriend has an ex-husband that threatens to kill her, abuses his daughter(she is trying to get custody). He broke into our house last week and we have a ton of ongoing court stuff with this scumbag. I have a restraining order against him and trying to get one against his brother. Even with how strict they are in sacramento do you think I have any kind of chance? And one more question, what all is involved in the process, im still trying to search out the specifics. Thanks guys/ladies

Jeff

Jeff,

Sorry to year about your difficulties. I'm even more sorry to say that you still don't have much of a chance (i didn't say NO chance).

I know no one wants to move, but in this case, with the safety of your family involved, maybe a move to a more CCW friendly county might be in order? El Dorado and Placer are both more understanding than Sacramento.

At any rate, someone from Sacramento will be along shortly to help point you in the right direction.

Unfortunatly right now he has shared custody(hoping that changes next week when they finally arest him for breaking and entering). So moving to another county is not allowed right now.

Here is a link to the Sac Sheriff's CCW Policy (in a PDF file) that they've published on their website: http://www.sacsheriff.com/forms/docu...ccw_policy.pdf

Your girlfriend may have a chance, I don't know if YOU would.

Welcome aboard Jeff. You can pick up the CCW packet from Sac Sheriff during the week. Regular office hours. It must be picked up in person due to specific instructions that the Sheriff's office needs to give to each applicant. However, it can ONLY be submitted to them Thursdays 0900-1100. Not Tuesdays as stated on the web site. That is per the contact person at the dept.
