Question What happened to any lawful purpose?

Just moved here from Mass. and have a ccw. I need to ship my smith 500 and my Glock 22. I need a ccw for Carlsbad and a dealer to send my weapons to. Any suggestions?

On Behalf of the Founding Members, Senior Members, and Forum Staff, welcome to the site. Did you mean you have a CCW in Massachussetts?

Yes, Carlsbad is in San Diego County, IIRC, which means you will have an uphill climb in getting a CCW.

Have a look at THIS thread regarding applying in San Diego.

You don't need a dealer to ship to if those are your weapons already. You must register them with DOJ within 60 days, IIRC.

Go here Bureau of Firearms - California Dept. of Justice - Office of the Attorney General, and read the California Firearms booklet for complete info, and the stuff about moving to CA.

What he said.

Don't need a FFL, just have to register with CA DOJ when you move here.

Don't forget to register your handguns with CA DOJ within 60 days for moving.

Also, since you mentioned you have a Glock Model 22, you can not bring any 10+ round magazines into CA. So, you have to either store any hi-cap mags in MA or sell them before you move here.

You don't need an FFL to send your guns to in order to bring them in to California. You can bring them into the state on your own. You just need to fill out this form, http://ag.ca.gov/firearms/forms/pdf/ab991frm.pdf, and send it in within 60 days of moving here.

From I hear, San Diego county is not very CCW friendly anymore. And self defense is not good cause in that county.
