Maybe she doesn't really want the job and if she angers enough people shell just shrug her shoulders and say "hey I tried" and walk out with another pay out in addition to her LASD retirement. Makes me think whats really going on.
That theory makes more sense than my own personal theory that she wanted to "serve" a quick two years so she can then retire and get big speaking or consulting or teaching fees or whatever. With a super-huge pension (LASD + OCSD combined) she'll never have to work again.

Generally a lawfully issued license can only be revoked for cause, otherwise the act can fall under the 'arbitrary and capricious' prohibition. It's no different than issuing the license. That requires fairly implemented standards, and so would revocation. Otherwise a sheriff could just issue to anyone, and immediately revoke them, with no consequences.
Better be extra careful not to print, expose, get any traffic tickets, etc. I'm sure she'll use ANYTHING as cause to revoke.

IF she does not win in 2010, she will not have enough time in to be vested in the pension program down here.

...and facts calms the nerves, doesn't it? Supposition and extrapolation of the unknown is a sure way to lose one's focus of what's really important; thank you CCWI.

Exactly. All this speculation into secret motives is a waste of energy. The simplest explanation is the best. She is doing what she thinks is the right thing to do. She was schooled under Baca, and doesn't believe the average person should be allowed to have a CCW license, and so she will bring OC into line with LA, which she thinks has it right. End of story.

Let's get back to the task at hand.

Self-fulfilling prophecy: In LA, since no one can get a CCW, anyone with a gun is a bad guy. Therefore, people with guns are bad and no one should get a CCW. Rinse and repeat.

Yes, Melissa informed me of the "hold" on everything else, but she cheerfully made the interview appointment, I pointed out that after the interview, my clock stops, and the ball is in the Sheriff's court.

Will let you guys know.

Note that SB's is a renewal, so the process is a bit different. I believe his GC is still the same, though.

(I hope you make it!)
