Default S&W 642 - Orange county weapons inspection

I have an Orange County permit. I have a G27, G22, and my S&W 642 as my listed firearms. My 642 has the built in ILS lock.

Can anyone tell me if the weapons inspection checks to see if the lock is functional? I can not remember if the guy checked the functioning of the lock. For the next inspection, I would like to disable this lock. However, I do not want it to fail inspection.

I would guess if the gun is manufactured with the ILS lock, it must be functioning properly.

Someone with the correct info will be here to help. I am not very familiar with wheel guns.

Thanks. It looks like the lock stays.

Wow, OC does it different than our county. Our deputy just wanted to make sure the guns fired safely. BTW Lew Horton has a shipment of that model without the lock. It is also my understanding that S&W may start manufacturing that model, sans lock.

If the last rumor is true, I know what my next ccw gun will be.
