Default Six Flags Discovery Kingdom

AKA Marine World in Vallejo.

I went to Six Flags last week unarmed but of course checked out the security entrance. They aren't a relaxed as Disneyland. They do have walk thru metal detectors and security with wands. There are lockers just to the left of the entrance for I think $9.00 a day. They are right along the walk way so good luck un arming yourself without getting caught. It's a long walk back to the parking lot. On a good note they was no signs of mischief at the park.

Discovery Kingdom was no Disneyland but I was impressed. We had a good time and although I didn't get to go on any of the BIG rides they look fun and had a number of them. The employees were pretty lazy and unmotivated. The Tigers (Sorry but there wasn't a Liger to be found) were neat to see up close but they do spray urine at the crowd so watch out. Hence the reason no weapons are aloud in the park.

So in a nut shell don't CCW to Discovery Kingdom and if you do they have lockers to the left.

Just a side note on lockers in theme parks:

Once upon a time, we were at Disneyland, when they had converted all the old style lockers to the electronic computer controlled types. The computer failed, technicians showed up, decided the failure was not repairable at the time, so they pulled out dinky swiss army knives, and proceeded to pop open the lockers for the guests--we had to provide our "claim check" scrap of paper, but they opened those lockers so quickly, it made me really recognize you have NO security in the park lockers.

Siggy,

I couldn't find any info re: "authorized weapons" the last time we went in (couple months back). I forgot about the wands. When i saw them, i rmemebered my joints didnt' set them off (NOT herb), so i went about my business. i don't think the wands are even on! Carried half a day, then went home. No problem. (though i probably wouldn't try it next time)
