Because the Sheriff's department believed you had good cause.

Ok I wasn't sure if I should divulge more then normal since I am applying for an LEO recruit. Thinking maybe it might help my me. I have 5 guns... Is that considered "many"? Sounds like I should keep it short and not even bring it up. Thanks!

Be prepared to answer...Do you own any guns? How many? If you happen to have "many".......You might think your answer ahead of time!
CCW is one of the questions on the application.

Question 93 of the PHS used by OCSD ask: Have you ever been refused a permit to carry a concealed weapon?

They'll ask about CCW and your guns. You know what to say about the CCW; with guns be prepared to have their serial numbers handy. This may factor in your background check.

Don't forget to start running 3-5 miles a day. Good luck!

They pressed me for my reasoning which I gave... Then proceeded to say well with your good cause anyone can get a CCW??? I said no I don't believe anyone can get a CCW. I was going to go into 2nd amendment rights, etc., but it was an interview and wanted to stay on topic. I will let you know if I make it to the next round.
