your instructor may have mentioned that a few of you would get your permits; that not up to him, he only teaches the class; but it's the whole process, including the background checks of those on your list and the seemingly long wait.[Even the look of your neighborhood and the knock on your door]; your honesty and character will be scrutinized as I had mentioned before; the responsibility of a citizen carrying a weapon is taken very seriously by the SBSD. And contacting them about your permit within a reasonable amount of time[90 days] is understandable; and when they call you back and tell you they're working on it---they really are!!!Which means you're still on track, while others may not???

SBSO is very professional and takes the issue of CCW very seriously! SBSO is pro CCW.
The will knock on your neighbors doors and ask questions. They will make an unannounced visit to your house. They knew I wouldn't be home for their visit so they interviewed the person that answered the door at my house. They will contact all references. My timeline for the process was: Pick up App : 2/2007 Interview: 8/2007 Course: 4/2008 Permit issue: 5/2008 In the end, it's a plesant experience and a learning experience. |
