just a thought....

Good advice...thank you.

your instructor may have mentioned that a few of you would get your permits; that not up to him, he only teaches the class; but it's the whole process, including the background checks of those on your list and the seemingly long wait.[Even the look of your neighborhood and the knock on your door]; your honesty and character will be scrutinized as I had mentioned before; the responsibility of a citizen carrying a weapon is taken very seriously by the SBSD. And contacting them about your permit within a reasonable amount of time[90 days] is understandable; and when they call you back and tell you they're working on it---they really are!!!Which means you're still on track, while others may not???

SBSO is very professional and takes the issue of CCW very seriously! SBSO is pro CCW.

The will knock on your neighbors doors and ask questions. They will make an unannounced visit to your house. They knew I wouldn't be home for their visit so they interviewed the person that answered the door at my house. They will contact all references.

My timeline for the process was:

Pick up App : 2/2007
Interview: 8/2007
Course: 4/2008
Permit issue: 5/2008

In the end, it's a plesant experience and a learning experience.

CCW logo next to your screen name[and a belated congradulations!]It took along time for you[me too], but they had to be thorough and check everything; and in the end you KNOW YOU GOT IT and deserved it Now for the hard part; warrior mindset and conditioned response; which means more practice and training---more practice and training---more practice and training and competition---

Great news Glock36, I just had my range day yesterday so hopefully will have permit within the next 30 to 60 days.

Congradulations!!!Be safe and be aware; but most of all, practice, train, and compete---condition your mind, which is above and beyond and of the utmost importance than what you have in your holster.
