Default I took an anti gunner to the range

Got a guy I work with to go to the range with me a few days ago. Approaching his forty’s and had never fired a gun! As a matter of fact he was pretty anti gun… when I first meet him. Out of 6 people in this office 4 have guns and two of us, and normally both wife’s, shoot once a month or more.

Started him with .22’s in a Ruger - Single Six then moved to a semi auto Walther P22. Next was a Taurus PT-92 in size 9 mm. The Walther and Taurus both had casings not eject fully when he fired them. When I fired them I had no problems with either one. Put him back on them and again had the same problem? I moved him up to a H&K USP .40. No problems with this one, he liked the H&K!. A manlier gun I guess? Next was a Colt Mark IV size .45. He wanted one! Needless to say the H&K and the Colt ran without fault.

We talked about the range trip today at work. He was talking about getting two guns now! One in .22 for fun and lots, and lots, of ammo down range and one in .45 for… other uses. Happened to mention he got notified his stimulus check is due in the next few days. Wonder if there was a message there?

Next is CCW.

Good work on the conversion.
One a week, that's all we ask.

We all need to do this as often as we can.... they just need to be asked. I once took my "militant feminist" sister to the range and now she wants to get a gun .... note the quotes.... maybe I should have taken a tamer soul before her. She lives just outosde of DC and Heller has piqued her interest again..... What have I done?

Agent 99,
Good job, excellent transition from .22 to .45

Short recoil & stovepipes can be caused by a weak-wristed shooter. I guess he lets the firearm rotate from his wrist so much that the slide binds just a bit in the rails. I encountered the same thing with novice M1911A2 shooters. A proper grip cured it.
