Just read about that. Thanks for posting the story I read did not detail if the citizen was armed. Just that he and an officer jumped on truck. Great job for him to take charge and stop the blood bath.

In this case, the anti-gun guys were right. The bad guy was shot and killed so the body count increased by one due to the use of firearms.
Edit: Just to be clear, there is a significant amount of sarcasm in my statement.

When will you guys learn? Logic has no place in this argument! If it did this website and others like it wouldn't be the same. There'd be a lot more about the guns, ammo, training, etc and less about what we need to do to fix this State's laws.

"They didn't actually have to shoot him. If this had happened in Britain it would not be deemed reasonable force. Was he armed? They could of wrestled him off the controls and overpowered him. In Israel life is cheap."
Really? If someone is actively trying to kill someone with a vehicle in Britan they are not allowed to shoot? Sounds to me like life is cheap in Britan...

I was in Israel last year on business. I had the opportunity to discuss the gun laws with locals. Just FYI, all citizens are required to perform 2 years of military service after high school and during that time, they receive world class training. You are required to register as a gun owner when obtaining a firearm. I was also told something I found interesting. As a registered firearm owner, you are required to produce the weapon any time the police may request it. Should you be unable to do so, you are placed in jail immediately until it is found, no matter how long it may take. Interesting approach to responsible gun ownership. I saw civilians both open carry and concealed carry (they aren't as terribly concerned about 'printing' as we tend to be) while I was there.
