This thread (like so many others on CALCCW) is about the REALITY of what will happen when you use it. And the 10MM will be painted as an unusual round specifically designed to cause more damage. (which is exactly what it is...)

If a Prosecutor ever tries to apply that reasoning to me, my lawyer will simply ask the firearms expert "Do any Federal Law enforcement agencies use the .357 sig?" "uh... Yes...." "Who?" "The United States Secret Service." "I see... The people who protect the President decided it was the best round to protect his life... did they do any tests before they adopted this round as a standard?" "Uh.... Yeah..." "I ask the court to mark this Defense exhibit 1. So the .357 sig is a great round to protect the President's life, and his families life, but not my client's life and his families life? No further questions..."

My two cents worth anyway...
It seems that the 10mm might go the way of the 41 Magnum. Both are fine hunting calibers, flat shooting as you pointed out, and originally intended to be "the ultimate" law enforcement round of the day.

It is a shame to see the 10mm not take off, as it's the only semi-auto cartridge I'd trust on game as large/tough as wild boar and black bear.
